Frequently Asked Questionsअक्सर पूछे जाने वाले प्रश्न

General information about our practice and how we work — not legal advice.

For your first meeting, please bring any documents directly related to your matter — court notices, agreements, FIR copies, property papers, medical reports, or correspondence as applicable. If you have received any legal notice, bring the original. A brief written summary of the facts (in Hindi or English) is helpful but not mandatory.

The firm primarily practises before Delhi District Courts, the Delhi High Court, the Supreme Court of India, and Tribunals based in Delhi including MACT, Consumer Commissions, and Arbitral Tribunals. For matters in other states, we can advise on strategy and documentation and, where necessary, assist in coordinating with local counsel.

Arbitration is an alternative dispute resolution mechanism under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. It is used where parties have agreed (typically through a contract clause) to resolve disputes before a neutral arbitrator rather than a court. Adv. Sanjay Kumar is empanelled as a Sole Arbitrator and handles commercial and civil disputes in this capacity. Arbitration is generally faster and more confidential than court proceedings.

Yes — we advise in both Hindi and English. Court documents are typically in English, but we explain all proceedings and your legal position in whichever language you are comfortable with.

The duration of a legal matter depends entirely on its nature, complexity, the forum before which it is pending, and factors outside the control of any advocate — including court schedules, availability of parties, and filing timelines. A realistic assessment of the likely timeline for the specific matter is communicated at the outset, and clients are kept informed of all key dates and developments.

All information shared with an advocate in the course of a professional relationship is protected by the professional duty of confidentiality under the Bar Council of India Rules. We do not share client information with third parties. However, communications through this website or general inquiry channels do not automatically create an advocate-client relationship — that is established through a formal engagement.
